Pop star Olly Murs has sent a message of support to an Alton Towers rollercoaster crash victim from Leyland

The X Factor runner-up tweeted 20-year-old Victoria Balch, who is recovering in hospital after suffering serious leg injuries.

Olly didn’t hesitate to get involved when a social media campaign, calling on people to urge the star to tweet Victoria, was launched.

And Victoria, a former pupil of Worden Academy, Leyland, replied thanking him, saying “thank you so much for the message, definitely cheered me up”.
