An 80-year-old has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, following the death of a pedestrian in Leyland last summer.

Police say pensioner Ann Diggles, of Dalehead Road, Leyland, has been summonsed to appear before Preston Magistrates on Friday, March 27.

The case follows a tragic incident in Leyland town centre in July, in which 53-year-old Leyland mum Julie Dean was killed after she was hit with a gold coloured Nissan Qashqai on Sumner Street, off Hough Lane..
