Talented singers and dancers took to the stage at the Civic Centre in Leyland on Friday night for the grand final of South Ribble’s Search for a Star competition.
Dancer Ethan Castle, 16, was announced as the winner, with 14-year-old singer Verity Kinnon in second place and Leyland’s Millie-Mae Hill, 11, in third place.
Mayor of South Ribble, Coun Graham Walton, who attended the event with his wife and mayoress Karen, said: “It was a tremendous night, each and every one of the finalists was brilliant.
“It takes some guts to get up on stage like that, let alone to perform like they did.
“Some artists were singing their own songs and playing guitars, and we also had some impressive dancers.
“It was marvellous, a very entertaining evening.
“Karen and I both thoroughly enjoyed it.”
Money raised from the occasion will be donated to the Mayor’s Charity Fund, which this year is supporting St Catherine’s Hospice, the North West Air Ambulance and the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution).
The event was sponsored by C & W Berry Ltd, and winner Ethan Castle walked away with a £200 cash prize.
