A popular Leyland play park is set for another facelift just months after work finished on a £47,000 scheme.
The Farington play facility off Stanifield Lane has been getting rave reviews since it was completed in May.
Now, locals can expect more improvements over the next few months.
Coun Mike Otter, who represents the Farington area, said: “When it is completed I think it will be one of the best parks in South Ribble - up there with Bamber Bridge.
“The park is well-used and lots of people are enjoying it but I think it will attract even more visitors when there are three separate areas.
“There will be one for toddlers, one for juniors and another for teenagers to use.
“It is disappointing that it has taken so long but it will be well worth it because the children will be able to exercise and enjoy the fresh air.”
Coun Peter Mullineaux, South Ribble Borough Council’s cabinet member with responsibility for Neighbourhood Services, said: “We have identified the funding to continue the development of Farington playground.
“The next stage is to identify a contractor to carry out the project.
“We hope to see work begin on the site before the end of the year, and be finished in time for next summer.
“The first part of this fantastic new development opened last year, with facilities for juniors and teenagers proving extremely popular.
“The second phase will include more equipment for toddlers which will make it an exciting place to visit for youngsters of all ages.”
