A £250,000 refurbishment at a Leyland town centre pub is now complete.
The Queens, on the corner of Golden Hill and Chapel Brow, opened its doors to the public last week, under the new management of Paul and Sue Cookson.
The couple have moved from the nearby Rose and Crown on Stanifield Lane, and hope to bring the formerly run-down Queens back to life.
The Queens has been closed since the start of the year, but has been undergoing a much-needed facelift during the last two months.
Flat screen TVs will show all the latest sporting events, and the move is set to create between eight and 12 new jobs in the town.
The Guardian revealed last week that one innovative idea Paul and Sue have had, is to let customers order takeaways from nearby establishments and eat the food inside the spruced-up pub.
The Rose and Crown’s brewery is recruiting someone to take over the Farington pub, so it will not close.
