Leyland’s record-breaking youngsters are celebrating another year of GCSE exam success today.
Despite tough new criteria aimed at making GCSEs harder, teenagers from across the town turned in a star performance.
Leyland’s best achieving school for overall grades was Academy@Worden, for the second year running.
Headteacher of Academy@Worden, Chris Catherall, is flying high after learning that all of his students have achieved the benchmark five A*-C grades in their GCSE exams.
Staff and students at Balshaw’s CE High School, Wellfield Business and Enterprise College and Leyland St Mary’s Catholic Technology College are also delighted with their results.
