Police have issued CCTV images of a man they are trying to trace after a series of fuel thefts in South Ribble last month.
All the offences took place on April 23 when a white Vauxhall Vivaro van, displaying false plates, has entered five different petrol forecourts and proceeded to fill up numerous blue fuel containers within the rear of the van totalling over £500.
The offences took place at the Old Oak garage at Hoghton, Sainsburys at Bamber Bridge, the BP garage at Walton Le Dale and WM Morrisons Leyland.
On each occasion the offender has stuck his middle finger up at the petrol attendants before driving off without making any attempt to pay.
He is described as white, approximately 30 years old, medium build with short brown hair.
He was also in company with another man who was wearing a high visibility vest and driving the vehicle
The offenders are also believed to have carried out further offence in Southport the following day.
PC Carina Appleton, from South Ribble Police, said: “I would appeal to anybody that recognises this man or with any information that could assist with our investigation to come forward.”
Anyone with any information should call Lancashire Police on 101.
