An elderly couple found dead at their home in Chorley have been named.
Harold and Joan Riding were found at the house on Great Meadow, Astley Village, on Tuesday afternoon.
Police attended after receiving a call shortly before 4.20pm reporting the sudden death of a woman and they found the body of 76-year-old Joan.
Also in the house was the body of Harold, 81, who is believed to have been dead for some time.
A police spokesman said: “While their deaths are currently being treated as unexplained there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances at this stage and we are liaising closely with HM Coroner.
“A post mortem to establish the cause of their deaths will take place in due course.”
Police are investigating what happened and are appealing for anyone with information to call them on 101, quoting log number 879 of April 14.
