A worker’s foot was snapped in an industrial accident in Buckshaw Village.
The 58-year-old man, who has not been named, was taken to hospital by air ambulance after the incident at insulation firm Encon.
It is believed a fork-lift truck had driven over his foot.
Chorley Council are investigating the incident, which happened on Monday, March 26, at the unit in a warehouse on Revolution Park, which is also shared by a number of other companies.
Police have also been informed.
Encon, a nationwide company which specialises in industrial insulation, were unable to comment as the Guardian went to press.
The Health and Safety Executive said they had not been informed about the incident.
Jamie Carson, Chorley Council’s director of People and Places, said: “We are aware of the incident and an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances of what happened.”
