Bamber Bridge FC skipper Glen Steel is pleading for patience from supporters after the team continues to leak goals after conceding 12 times in their last five matches.
The 25-year-old has recently been moved from his role in the heart of the defence to bolster the midfield but he believes it will take time for new players to fit into their positions and is confident they can reverse the trend.

Although Brig remain second in the league, they have continued to ship goals - a point demonstrated by Saturday's exciting 4-3 win at Garforth Town and Wednesday's Presidents Cup second round 4-3 nailbiter.

He said: "I think in the losses to Lancaster and Halifax recently have been because we have conceded too many goals.

"However, we are going to be working in training to get the lads defending better as a team so we can turn our defeats and draws into wins.

"It is different situation to last season where up to Christmas we conceded approximately 15 goals in the league but now we have almost doubled that figure with 27.

Steel will take his troops to third-placed Newcastle Blue Star on Saturday realising it could be a difficult afternoon at the office.

He said: "They have scored the most goals in the league so far and have played some good football this season.

"I think even a point would be a good result.''
