Leyland Golf Club members were in tee-rific form in the Preston and District League Charity Cup event.
The 18 man squad team was captained by Ian Fisher and they defeated the hosts Penwortham by a single point as they finished on 384 points.

One of the highlights of the day was Dave McGee notching up 36 points for Leyland while there were other good performances from skipper Fisher, Peter Dobson and his son Wayne Dobson.

Nine teams took part in the event as the top 12 scores by each of the teams were taken forward to the final standings.

Captain Ian said: "It was a fantastic feeling to win and be able to make the winning speech at Penwortham, especially in their centenary year.

"The home team normally wins events such as this but it was a close run thing and we came out on top after a recount in the clubhouse at 8pm.

"I would like to thank the Penwortham captain Mike Doyle for his hospitality and I did commiserate with him."
