A teenage motocross sensation from Leyland is about to embark on a bid to become British champion.
Nathan Parker, 19, from Croston Road, started an intensive five-month training programme with a three-time former world champion this week as he aims to turn professional with the British Motocross team.

The former Worden Sports College schoolboy comes from a family of motocross enthusiasts, with his older brothers Daniel, 23, and David, 21, also stars of the amateur circuits.

But Nathan, who started riding motocross bikes at the age of six, is aiming even higher after being tipped to become a future world champion.

However, he needs to secure £5,000 worth of sponsorship to fund the expensive pursuit, with proud mum Pam calling on local businesses to help out.

She said: "We're hoping this will help him hit the heights, compete nationally and then aim for the world championships. This will be his career."

Anybody interested in sponsoring Nathan should contact Steve Turner on 07703 728323 or email steve@strhonda.com.

Sponsors will receive a hospitality package including VIP tickets to race meetings, with access all areas, photographs, race reports and promotional appearances. Go to www.strhonda.com for more details.
