Mossley 1 Bamber Bridge 2
BAMBER Bridge leapfrogged their opponents to move up to 11th spot in the league table after a comfortable win.
It was Brig’s first win since September 10 and Neil Crowe’s side overpowered the hosts who were unbeaten in their last six matches.
Bamber Bridge took the lead on 11 minutes with their first meaningful chance of the game when Alex Porter slipped the ball through to Ryan Salmon who calmly tucked the ball away for his first goal since returning to the club.
However, the home support only had to wait 13 minutes for an equaliser when Lee Constantine fired past Lee Dovey.
On the verge of half-time, Alistair Waddecar gently rolled a free-kick from the left-hand edge of the Mossley penalty box into the path of the unmarked Alex Porter and he grabbed his first goal of the season.
Brig skipper Michael White and the outstanding Luke Atherton were dominant at the back and as time wore on they threatened the hosts goal.
Hosts keeper Pearson made a fine save on 75 minutes from a rising Waddecar drive following some excellent work by Salmon.
Brig held on for a deserved three points going into their FA Trophy tie with Cammel Laird on Friday night.
