Brig beat freeze - but not leaders

Bamber Bridge beat the big freeze - but not local rivals Lancster City.

This New Year's Day cracker was only one of only two games in the UniBond North League to beat the weather and for long periods of time Brig looked like springing an upset.

Phil Denney opened the scoring for the visitors after just 14 minutes and held the lead until 12 minutes from the end.

Then Tony Greenwood's men were hit by a triple salvo of goals from Andrew Teague (78 minutes); Michael Rushton (83); and leading scorer Jordan Connerton (90).

It was tough for Brig but it was good entertainment for the crowd of 395.
