BAMBER Bridge FC boss Neil Crowe believes his side are showing the essential qualities needed to challenge at the top of the Evostik First Division North.

The QED Stadium side were up against it with 35 minutes left on the clock when they were reduced to 10 men as Ryan Salmon was shown a second yellow card and were 2-1 down to Salford City.

However, Brig battled back to grab a draw with a goal by Alistair Waddecar.

Crowe said: “When we were heading into the game Reyno (Neil Reynolds) and I had set the players a target for the number of points we needed in the next three games.

“We are still very much on target for that as I would take a points from Salford because they have beaten us so far this season. We had chances to win the game.

“Our confidence is high as we have lost one in 10 games.

“The players showed a never-say-die spirit and we hust have to keep in touch with all the play-off teams.

“We have Cammell Laird on Saturday who are at the bottom of the table but there are no easy games in this league as they won 5-1 at the weekend.”

Kick-off at the QED Stadium is 3pm
