Hoghton secured a huge 12 point victory at home to Thornton Cleveleys.
Cleveleys won the toss and decided to bat and must have regretted their decision after being bowled out for 143.
Rob Bolton removed opener Tom Higson for 12 before the stand out bowling performance came from Hoghton’s young all rounder Will Monks.
Monks bowled excellently, claiming 5-57 off 16.1 overs and claimed the wickets of two batsmen in Rob Dingle and Jon Eade.
Spinner Matt Parkinson cannot be overlooked as he took 3-28 off 14 overs and bowled with control along side Monks.
The Hoghton reply started badly as Geeth Malinda (0) fell early on.
Andy Taylor hit 12 before the Eccles family steadied the Hoghton ship.
Darren Eccles batted superbly hitting an unbeaten 72 whilst Neil Eccles hit 26.
Neil Eccles fell just before Hoghton and James Ainscough and skipper Phil Hurst but bowling hero Monks saw the side home alongside Darren Eccles giving Hoghton a deserved victory.
Withnell Fold fell 10 runs short in their chase against Great Eccleston 2nd XI in Division One.
Bowling first, Great Ecc posted 182 off 45 overs.
Opening bowler Josh Cunliffe bowled well taking 2-45 off 16 overs.
Cunliffe also hit 43 in the Fold chase with Michael Atkinson snr hitting 22 and Andrew Pratt an unbeaten 34.
But Fold fell short andlost by 10 runs.
White Coppice lost their fifth successive game by three wickets against Longridge 2nd XI.
Coppice posted a small total of 118, Tony Moore the notable scorer hititng 49.
Coppice bowled well in the Longridge innings with Kyle Dixon (2-11) and Steve Cooke (3-27) but Longridge edged over the line winning in the 37th over.
Mawdesley suffered a damaging defeat against New Longton.
Bowling first, Mawdesley restricted New Longton to 165 off 45 overs.
Mick Marsden took 4-48.
But Mawdesley struggled in their chase and were bowled out for 90.
Jay Bethell top scored for Mawdesley with 31 and Matt Watkinson hit 27.
