New Farington House FC are on the verge of winning the LEP Sunday Premier league.
The Leyland-based team are seven points clear at the top of the division, and play second-placed Canaries FC at Preston Sports Arena on Sunday.
They beat Fishwick Rangers 4-1 last weekend with a brace from Craig Boothsby.
A win for Farington House FC this Sunday would almost guarantee them the premier league championship for the first time.
Secretary Graeme Conroy said: “It has been an incredible season for us, having been promoted as Division One champions last season.
“There have been some great performances all season against some excellent teams.
“Led by captain Martin Savigar and under the management of Steve Broomhead and Nigel Williams, the team has rattled in 82 goals in 18 games.
“Leading goalscorer is Ash Ball, and he has been well supported by goals from Ryan Broomhead, Byron Andrew and Andy Rico Richards.”
The club has achieved Charter Standard Status this season thanks to the hard work of Leoni Williams.
Graeme added: “The club is moving in the right direction with excellent support from all the committee and our supporters who travel home and away to all of the games.
“I am sure we are in for an excellent game this coming Sunday.
