Bamber Bridge slipped to fifth in the Evo-Stik League Division One North after losing 1-0 to leaders Curzon Ashton.
A solitary strike from Luke Horrocks in the 26th minute was enough to seal all three points for the away side.
Brig were without midfield maestro Curtis Thompson as he was serving a one-match ban, while utility player Matt Mahoney was also banned.
Both sides had chances early on with Matty Warburton firing an effort wide, while Ally Waddecar tested goalkeeper Hakan Burton in the Curzon goal.
Then after Matt Lawlor missed a free header, Brig had a golden chance to take the lead from the penalty spot.
Waddecar nipped in ahead of Simon Woodford who was attempting to shepherd the ball back to Burton.
But Waddecar ushered his way through and Burton clattered the front man giving the referee a comfortable decision.
Jerome Watt stepped up but hit his effort wide of the left-hand post.
Curzon took advantage of the penalty miss and took the lead in the 26th minute.
Dale Minor swung a ball into the box and Steve James failed to catch the ball cleanly and despite an attempted clearance on the line Horrocks bundled the ball over.
Steve James produced several excellent saves in the second half before Matty Kay fired straight at Burton when one-on-one.
Curzon’s Chris Young was then sent off for an off the ball incident with Waddecar.
But despite the two late chances for Brig, they couldn’t find an equaliser so missed out on a deserved point.
