Alex Taylor was Brig’s two goal hero in a hard fought victory over New Mills at Irongate.
Brig fought back from one down to defeat their opponents and now sit sixth in the Evo-Stik League Division One North.
Despite a heavy downpour prior to kick off the game went ahead however the pitch cut up heavily not allowing Brig to play their usual passing game.
Ali Waddecar had a flurry of corners in the opening stages of the game and Curtis struck the outside of the post with a volley.
But despite the early pressure it was the away side that took the lead, Raducio King latched onto a through ball cutting inside and slotting comfortably past Lee Dovey.
Brig went on the hunt for a equaliser but failed to take advantage of a long spell of pressure.
Then four minutes before the break, Thompson was hauled down inside the area and Brig were awarded a penalty - Waddecar stepped up but his effort was saved by the feet of Peter Collinge.
Five minutes after the restart, Brig found their equaliser.
A low cross was fired into the box and Taylor made no mistake tapping the ball in.
Brig were dealt a blow when Phil Doughty was sent off for denying a goal scoring opportunity, the decision much to the disgust of the Brig management team.
Brig faced an uphill battle but with eight minutes remaining they got themselves in front - Taylor rising above everybody from a cross and looping a header over Collinge and seal a battling victory.
