Leyland Warriors Open Age 24 Cherry Tree Panthers 16

Leyland Warriors Open Age team returned to winning ways after a bruising encounter with Cherry Tree Panthers.

Danny Bateson opened the scoring for the Warriors and Johnny Tuson added a further try to take the score to 10-0.

Before the break, Cherry Tree scored a try but Leyland started the second half brightly with Ryan Cosgrove showing great footwork to score.

Cherry Tree staged a revival and scored two tries with only 10 minutes left on the clock.

But the Warriors lifted their game scoring two late tries from Chris Brindle and Paul Lorenzen to make the score 24-16.

Warriors U15s produced their best performance of the year to beat Hindley 12-0.

The Warriors scored the opening try as Lewis Banks dived over.

Sam Leach's solo effort saw him crash in the corner after breaking the first tackle.

Banks grabbed a brace before the final whistle.

Warriors U10s travelled to Leigh without key players and were beaten 30-0.

Meanwhile the U8s produced their first victory with a 36-8 win against Oldham.

Ben Martin produced a superb individual performance scoring six tries in the first half.

In the second half Joseph Watson found his way over the try line following a powerful drive.
