In the Chorley Nissan Sunday League FC Funktion finally picked up their first point of the season with a 1-1 draw against high-flyers Duke of York.

The Duke of York had scored eight goals in their last match but struggled against FC Funktion who dominated in the first half despite going a goal down after Ben Timbury put the ball in his own net.

Funktion's Andy Manchester missed a few good chances to level just before the break.

In the second period the Duke of York improved but Gareth Dove struck midway through the second half with a slick FC Funktion move.

Both teams had chances to win the game late on but it finished 1-1. Clayton Nomads went back to the top of the Chorley Nissan Sunday league after a solid 2-0 victory against league leaders the Bay Horse.

Eccleston and Heskin FC enjoyed a 8-3 win over East Lancs United last weekend to move up to fourth place in the Lancashire Evening Post Sunday Football League.

Darren Thompson opened the scoring as early as the fifth minute and Chris Vickers added shortly afterwards from the penalty spot.

Neat build-up play from Thompson saw Chris Vickers produce a clinical finish.

Vickers got his hat-trick when he took on the keeper and finished expertly with his left foot.

Darren Thomson registered goal number five before half time after being slipped in by Matt Currie.

After the interval Darren Thompson got his hat trick when he finished strongly with his left foot.

Eccleston and Heskin took their foot off the pedal and some sloppy defending allowed East Lancs to pull back two goals.

However after some excellent play Thompson got the team's seventh.

East Lancs to their credit kept fighting and got a third goal. However Chris Johnson made it eight with a superb finish after a strong run from the right.
