Leyland United slumped to a 3-2 defeat against CMB in manager Kenny Mayers’ first home game in the West Lancashire League Division Two.
Mayers made several changes to his side and it showed as his side struggled to settle and CMB took an early lead.
Leyland improved as the half progressed, although chances were limited to long range efforts.
The referee was then the saviour for Leyland as moments before the half-time whistle, the man in the middle chalked off a second CMB goal for pushing.
Leyland had a great chance to go in level but Danny Dawson saw his effort rebound off the post.
The home side continued to press in the second half with both Michael Benson and Dawson having efforts on goal.
But in the 52nd minute, the game was turned on its head as Leyland skipper Dave McCarty was shown a red card, along with a CMB substitute.
But as Leyland attacked CMB countered and doubled their lead.
Mayers then popped up with a goal to make it 2-1 before minutes later Benson made it 2-2.
But hearts were broken as the away side made it 3-2 and then held on for the final 15 minutes to seal the win.
