A fine all-round display from Bamber Bridge sealed a valuable three points in the Evo-Stik Division One North on Saturday – and also made it three clean sheets in a row.
Greg Johnstone opened the scoring in the 4-0 victory over Ossett Town before Lennie Reid and a double from Ali Waddecar sealed the victory.
Brig, like in previous weeks, started the game strongly but failed to convert early chances.
But in the 35th minute, Curtis Thompson sent a shot goalbound which Shaun Connor handled.
Referee Iain Siddall had no other option but to award the penalty and Johnstone stepped up and made no mistake in smashing the ball home from 12 yards.
The goal sparked Brig into life and two goals in two minutes ultimately sealed the points.
The first saw a lovely lobbed ball from Waddecar go in off the far post.
And in the next minute, Lennie Reid netted from inside the box after great work by Danny Wilkins cut the ball back to him.
The second half followed in the same vein as Brig dominated, and on 58 minutes, Waddecar made sure of the points.
A trademark free-kick from just outside the box saw his second goal of the afternoon to seal a great man-of-the-match performance.
The win sees Brig move into seventh place, two points off the play off places.
