Bamber Bridge were left to rue several missed chances as they had to settle for a point against Scarborough Athletic.
Darren Green missed a penalty in the 66th minute while Kieron Pickup rattled the cross bar and Stu Vasey headed wide from six yards.
The draw has left Brig fifth and in the play-off spots in the Evo-Stik Division One North, which is 10 points off top spot.
It was a good start to the game at the Sir Tom Finney stadium as both sides looked to pass the ball around on a flat surface.
After small spells of possession for both sides it was Scarborough’s Joseph Cracknell who would be tested first as he acrobatically tipped over a well struck Chris Marlow shot.
Lee Dovey watched efforts from Ryan Blott and Alex Metcalfe sail over the bar while Stu Vasey should have done better heading wide an Ally Waddecar cross.
Vasey then saw his drilled volley deflected wide for a corner before James Beadle became the third Borough player to send a volley well over the bar.
The visitors struggled to break down a well organised Bamber Bridge back line and their style of play became more direct as the half went on.
Early in the second half, Waddecar denied Cameron Murray with a crucial block at the back post while Curtis Thompson’s tame effort was easily saved by Cracknell.
Brig had their hearts in their mouths shortly before the hour as Blott rattled the post after latching onto James Beadle’s header.
The game was starting to open up as both sides looked for a crucial opener, then in the 66th minute, Kieron Pickup danced his way into the area only to be clattered by Ben Middleton.
Referee James Wilson pointed straight at the penalty spot, but it would be the Borough fans who would be cheering as Cracknell pushed wide Green’s penalty diving to his left.
Beadle then sent a volley over the bar from 10 yards and then Vasey headed straight at Cracknell after latching onto Pickup’s high ball.
The home side continued to look the more threatening of the two teams and nine minutes before the final whistle, Pickup picked up a Green pass, he cut inside onto his favoured right foot bypassing Daniel Wilkinson and from 16 yards his spectacular effort rattled the crossbar with Cracknell well beaten.
Substitute James Bennett sent a volley wide from 25 yards and then Wilkinson brilliantly denied Green with a sliding challenge as the latter only had Cracknell to beat.
There was almost pandemonium in the dying seconds behind Lee Dovey’s goal as centre-half Dean Lisles’ free header was superbly headed off the line by Pickup.
