Bamber Bridge coach Mick Taylor was delighted with the teams performance against Conference North new boys AFC Fylde.
Brig took on Fylde in their penultimate pre-season fixture and drew 2-2, with both goals coming from Ally Waddecar.
Boss Neil Crowe wasn’t on the touchline due to holiday commitments which meant Taylor, assistant boss Neil Reynolds and goalkeeping coach Stu Barton took the reins.
And Taylor was delighted with how things went during the game.
He said: “We settled really well but if I’m being honest I think Fylde shaded the first half.
“We got the boys in at half time and we had a chat and from the off in the second off we were at them, we pushed them back and we scored early on.
“I think we had the better of the second half and it sets us up well for the first game against Droylsden.”
Brig have one remaining pre-season fixture which is against Euxton Villa tomorrow night, Wednesday.
And Taylor is delighted with how pre-season has gone for the side.
He added: “We know we need to knuckle down and progress from last season and get over that line.
“We’ve give a really good account of ourselves this pre-season, especially against Preston North End.
“I think that’s the only game we lost and it was very close, we have done really well and when we click I don’t think there is a footballing side in the league, it’s all for one and one for all at Bamber Bridge, the management team and the lads are all together.”
Brig open up their campaign at the Sir Tom Finney Stadium against Droylsden on Saturday, August 16. Kick off is 3pm.
