Euxton Villa sit top of the West Lancs Premier Division after a crushing victory over Norcross &Warbreck.

Villa won 5-1 in their first home game of the season and will look to build on the win going into next weeks fixtures.

Goals from Byron Andrew, Ash Ball, Danny Morris and two from Danial Hogg secured a comfortable victory.

Earlier in pre-season McDonell stated he was going to play much more attacking football this season and the opening day performance certainly backs up what he said.

Coppull United also got off to a great start as they won 1-2 away at Thornton Cleveleys.

Coppull handed debuts to Ike Williams, Nathan Fairhurst , Lee Gelder and Karl Burke.

And there was no worry of the side not gelling as Dave Haughtons men dominated the game having 19 efforts on goal. Dave Parker and Chris Robinson scored the goals for Coppull in a performance that everyone at the club can be pleased with.

League Champions Charnock Richard had a well earned 1-1 draw away at Blackpool Wren Rovers.

Former Chorley man Alex Porter scored in the sixth minute but Wren Rovers hit back through Tom Watson.

Charnock had their chances but struggled to put the ball in the back of the net.
