Garforth Town 3 Bamber Bridge 3

Six goals, one hat-trick, freezing conditions and a paltry 72 fans.

These were the bare facts of Bamber Bridge's 3-3 draw at Garforth Town on Tuesday night which they don't tell the whole story.

These were the bare facts of Bamber Bridge's 3-3 draw at Garforth Town on Tuesday night which they don't tell the whole story.

This was a great advert for the Unibond League but the fact that only 72 people braved the sub-zero temperatures tells you all you need to know about the difficulties facing football.

It was a memorable game for Brig's in-form striker Peter Wright, who bagged a magnificent hat-trick.

His trio of goals consisted of one cool finish, a diving header and a free kick but it wasn't enough to secure the three points.

His goals came in the 16th, 47th and 63rd minutes and continued his excellent run of form after his return from a lengthy ban.

However, as befitted the open game, Garforth grabbed three equalisers from Chris Fisher (46 minutes) Tom Greaves (62 minutes) and finally Nathan Kamara just two minutes from time.

It could easily have been 6-6 but some excellent saves from Brig's goalkeeper Ben Hinchcliffe.
