Hoghton suffered another heavy defeat – this time at the hands of Fulwood and Broughton in the Palace Shield Premier Division.
Hoghton have struggled for consistency all season and were inserted to bat by their opponents.
Only opener James Ainscough (35) and tale ender Josh Holland (27) offered any resistance as they succumbed to 130 all out.
In reply, in form all-rounder Will Monks struck early but Fulwood eased to the target knocking it off inside 30 overs .
Rob Bolton claimed the other Fulwood wicket.
The defeat leaves Hoghton 20 points adrift of safety.
White Coppice suffered a six-wicket defeat against league leaders Vernon Carus.
Batting first Coppice were bowled out for 140, with the returning Steve Cooke top scoring with 38.
Tony Moore (26) and Kyle Dixon(21) werev the other notable contributors.
Coppice always faced an uphill battle on a small Vernons ground but made early inroads as Phillip Jackson claimed two early wickets.
Wayne Dixon removed Ben Mashiter and youngster Thomas Bates chipped in with a run out but Vernons eased to the total to win by six wickets.
Withnell Fold leapfrogged Coppice into second after a convincing victory against Croston.
Winning the toss skipper Michael Atkinson Jnr elected to bowl and his side bowled excellenty restricting Croston to 85-5 off 30 overs. Skipper Atkinson the pick of the bowlers taking 2-20. Fold got off to a great start as opener Gav Cooper hit 27.
But a quick loss of wickets left Fold stuttering.
However, veteran Graham Green saw the side home, finishing on 28 not out.
Eccleston extended their lead at the top of Divison two after defeating second place Whittle-le-Woods.
A fluent 64 from Matt Ashcroft guided Eccleston to 149 off 41 overs. Terence Markham took 4-45.
Whittle fell just short of the target as they were bowled out for 143.
Jon Huckfield hit 49 and Stu Barnish 42 but the other batsmen had no answer to Stu White who took 7-55 off 16 overs.
