Leyland hope to clinch Northern League

Leyland Cricket Club will have another chance to clinch the Northern League on Saturday when they head to Preston.

Dave Makinson's side have an 11-point lead and can only be caught by second placed Barrow.

The Fox Lane have 246 points before hosting Darwen in the final game.

Barrow have 235 points and play at Chorley on Saturday before finishing their most successful season since joining the Northern League with a home game against Preston.

Leyland could have won the title on Monday but for a 10 run defeat against Barrow on Bank Holiday Monday.
