LAPSES in concentration were costly for Bamber Bridge as they conceded 18 second-half points to draw with Eccles and Salford.

Bamber Bridge opened the scoring after the three minute mark, courtesy of Ben Whewell who beat the Eccles defenders to ground the ball and Damian Duncan added the conversion.
On 21 minutes, the floodgates opened for Bamber Bridge as they seemed to step up a gear as Andy Swarbrick opened his 2011 account by burrowing under the tackles to score a converted try.
Bamber Bridge continued to dominate and in the next set of six Dave Brakewell made a 60 metre run to set up Lee Cadwallader to make it 16-0.
Some neat play by Cadwallader, Aaron Marshall and Danny Bateson set up a try for winger Dave Brakewell.
Eccles and Salford bagged their first points of the afternoon with a try, but Bamber Bridge stretched their gap between the two sides to 18 points on the hour mark when Aaron Marshall crossed the line. The visitors responded with a penalty try and clawed their way back into the game with another score to make it 26-18 heading into the last 10 minutes.
Bamber Bridge failed to keep possession on the Eccles 20 metre line and the visitors scored a converted try to draw level.
Man of the match for Bamber Bridge was Andy Swarbrick, closely followed by impressive performances by Damian Duncan and Aaron Marshall.
