Tenacious Tony is set to bounce back

Bamber Bridge boss Tony Greenwood is ready to ring the changes at Irongate.

And there could be a new face in the ranks for tomorrow's short hop to

Rossendale United.

Brig crashed to a fifth straight league defeat at play-off chasing

Skelmersdale in midweek, and Greenwood is desperate to end his worrying slump.

"We are in a hole, but I remain positive that we can get out of this – and still have a good season," said Greenwood.

"We've had tough games – Halifax twice, Lancaster and Skem – but I'm not downbeat.

"We just need a win from somewhere to get us going us again."

Greenwood has released striker Richie Allen, for turning out in a Sunday League game, while goalkeeper Mike Hale is on the transfer list following a dressing room bust-up after the 4-1 defeat at Halifax.

"Richie is one of the most exciting players in non-league, but he has let me down and has let himself down," added Greenwood.

"I can't understand the lad, he has all the ability in the world but doesn't have the desire and commitment to drive himself on further.

"I'm very disappointed as I made a big decison to bring him here after he was let go by Fylde, then he does the same thing again, playing in some Mickey Mouse game on a Sunday.

"I am talking to another few players about joining, but we'll have to wait and see if anything develops.

"We definitely need a couple of new faces. The injuries are beginning to pile up."

Brig's last win was against Leigh nearly two months ago, and chairman Terry Gammans is fast losing patience with the squad as Greenwood bids to kick-start their campaign.

Bottom club Rossendale have won just twice in 21 starts this term, so Brig will not have a better opportunity to break their duck in 2010.

Greenwood said: "We'll keep battling on. There are 21 games left and 63 points available, which would be good enough to get us there.

"Rossendale will be a tough place to go as they will be up for it and showed that when they drew 0-0 with us at home."
