Man hit by bus dies

A pedestrian who was hit by a bus as he crossed a busy Lancashire road has died.

Peter Gaskell, 31, was crossing Station Road in Bamber Bridge on Friday when he collided with the Stagecoach bus.

He suffered serious injuries and spent five days fighting for his life in the intensive care unit of the Royal Preston Hospital.

But Mr Gaskell, of Alma Row in Hoghton, died at 4am today, Wednesday.
