A pig has been on the rampage through gardens in Adlington. Police were called after the animal was spotted in Carrington Road, after breaking away from its owner.
It was seen turning over soil in residents' gardens but the extent of the damage is unknown.

A spokesman for Lancashire police said: "We had a number of calls form residents that there was a pig in the cul-de-sac.

"One caller said that it was a big pig and they didn't know what to do.

"The local PCSO contacted the owner of the pig who lived locally and the pig was returned to him.

"The owner is paying for any damage caused and has promised to put everything back to how it was."

The incident was reported on Thursday, October 9, at 11.15am.
