Christmas comes to Hoghton Tower this weekend as Santa arrives on Sunday to man his grotto at the historic fortified manor house.

And, while Father Christmas moves into the atmospheric Banqueting Hall, with a roaring log fire in the huge fireplace, ready for the festive season, outside the Tower’s Christmas Farmer’s Market will be in full swing.

A Magical Meeting with Father Christmas begins at 10am and tickets are £5 per child on the day with one adult free with every child. Each child gets a gift from under the tree.

Entry to the Farmers Market is £1 per car and local suppliers will be ensuring that you can pick up all the vital ingredients for your festive feast.

From 10am, everything from fresh turkeys to local grown sprouts, from farmhouse cheeses to homebaked Christmas cakes will be on sale so come and stock up while the children tell Santa what they want for Christmas.
