The Dukes in Lancaster is next week hosting a special event celebrating Dementia Friends to coincide with the screening of an Oscar-winning film about the condition.
On Tuesday, the venue will be screening Still Alice (12A) in which Julianne Moore is a successful university professor who struggles to maintain her mind and self after being diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s Disease.
Dementia Friends are people who’ve learned a little about what it’s like to live with dementia and can provide help when required.
Those who show their special badges when attending the screening will save £1 off their ticket and be invited to take part in a free post-film discussion in The Dukes gallery.
Screenings of Still Alice also take place at The Dukes this Friday to Sunday and next Thursday.
