Garstangbury is big hit and fitting tribute to A.D.A.M

A charity music festival in memory of a young man who died suddenly has gone down a storm.

Garstangbury was held in and around Kirkland Village Hall in Churchtown to raise money for the A.D.A.M Appeal.

The charity was launched following the death of Adam Swanwick almost 12 months ago.

Adam, 28, was with fiancé Louise Ayre on their way to sample wedding food when he suffered a heart attack.

The appeal was set up in his memory, with the aim of fundraising to provide defibrillators in community buildings, as well as an e-petition, calling on the Government to debate compulsory heart defect screenings in schools.

Hundreds of people turned out for the outdoor family music festival, which ran from noon until 9pm on Saturday night.
