How the North West was won

The Lancashire Hotpots
The Lancashire Hotpots

The county’s own comedy troubadours The Lancashire Hotpots don their stetsons for new show A Fist Full of Scratchcards at Blackpool Grand Theatre on Saturday.

Expect all the usual comedy folk favourites, including Chippy Tea and Shopmobility Scooter as well as Rootin’ Tootin’ Country and Western Hoedown and Nan’s Blue Disabled Badge.

The lads from St Helens have been writing their topical comedy folk songs since 2006, and have performed on The Grand’s stage for the past four years.

With anthems such as He’s Turned Emo, The Baking Song and I Fear Ikea; the Hotpots have become something of a cult spectacle, touring the country with their own brand of parody and celebrating the culture of the North West.

They have played Glastonbury, toured with Paddy McGuinness, written jingles for Holland’s Pies, recorded live studio sessions at BBC 6Music for avid Hotpots fan Steve Lamacq and even had a real ale named after them!

Tickets £15.50, call the box office on 01253 74 33 39 or www.blackpoolgrand.co.uk
