Soul Sister, the musical inspired by the lives of Ike and Tina Turner, comes to Blackpool Opera House next week as part of a national tour.

Nominated for Best New Musical at this year’s Olivier Awards, it runs from Monday to Saturday.

It features all the classic hits including What’s Love Got to Do with It, Proud Mary, Private Dancer, River Deep Mountain High and, naturally, Simply the Best. The story follows the well-documented highs and lows of the couple’s careers which led to Tina being catapulted to superstardom and heralded as one of the greatest solo artists of all time by Rolling Stone Magazine.

With a career spanning more than 50 years, her combined album and single sales total 180 million copies worldwide, with nine Grammy Awards, and an induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Jenny Fitzpatrick plays her on stage and her own West End and regional
theatre credits include Little Shop of Horror, Our House, The Blues Brothers and Ghost.
