Re-united Prestonian jazz funksters Tripitaka return to the city’s New Continental this Saturday after a sold out show there last year.
The eight piece band are back with a new look and a new sound but serving up the same trippy brand of jazz infused funk and soul.
Originally formed back in 1981, Tripitaka are renowned as one of the finest funk bands in the North West, they are led by vocalist Jade Bianca Williams, backed by bassist Shaun Fortune, guitarist Mik Billington, keyboard player Ian Cross, drummer Jonathan Mitchell.
And they also feature a fabulous brass section in the shape of saxophonist Aaron Siggs, trumpeter Phil Rutter and trombonist Chris Jones.
A special guest DJ will provide a funky soundtrack both pre and post-show.
Doors open for the show in the South Meadow Lane pub’s Arts Space at 8.30pm.
Tickets are still on sale at £5 from the Continental’s bar on 01772 499 425.
