Fresh from a support slot with the Manic Street Preachers, rising stars Wolf Alice are at Preston’s 53 Degrees tomorrow night.

The four-piece London alt-rockers are causing a storm in the music world, are hotly tipped as one of the big things to look out for in 2014.

Ellie Rowsell, Joel Amey, Joff Oddie and Theo Ellis emerged to acclaim afterwinning over Radio 1’s Huw Stephens to secure a BBC session and a deal with Chess Club Records.

In 2013 debut single ‘Fluffy’. folow-up ‘Bros’ and the ‘Blush’ EP won them even more fans and they are now regulars on Radio 1 and BBC 6Music.

While the group’s early sound was folk-tinged pop, they’ve recently become more rock-oriented.

Infectious melodies coupled with a pounding rhythm section and garage guitar, press have compared them to everyone from The XX and Elastica to Hole.

Their latest EP Creature Songs is released on May 26.

In what’s set to be an all-star indie bill, support comes from Birmingham four-piece Superfood, who last played 53 Degrees alongside Peace, selling out our club room. Check out these NME cover stars in the making.
