Preston Opera next week stages Jacques Offenbach’s La Belle Helene at the Charter Theatre.

Their production of this irreverent romp through one of the most famous tales of Greek mythology runs from Thursday to Saturday.

Helen, Queen of Sparta, is smitten with Prince Paris of Troy, who has been promised the love of the most beautiful woman in the world by the goddess Venus.

What can Menelaus, King of Sparta, do to win back his wife?

With memorable music, larger than life characters and a cheeky 1920s setting, this three-act operetta from the original by Meilhac and Halevy promises fun and romance.

This production is presented by arrangement with Joseph Weinberger Ltd, and is fully staged with chorus and orchestra.

Tickets £16, concs £14, patrons £10, children and students £7.
