Visitors to Blackpool’s annual Showzam! festival, which begins next Saturday, are being urged to get involved and take part in a series of Workshops and Heritage Tours.
From learning the art of painting your face like a clown to mastering the tricks of the trade Barnum style, a series of workshops will give youngsters the opportunity to find out all about life in the circus and the art of performance.
And for those keen to learn more about the world-famous resort’s history there’s the opportunity to take part in Heritage Tours behind the scenes at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Blackpool Tower and the magnificent Winter Gardens.
The workshops and tours will take place during Showzam! which runs until Wednesday, February 18.Michael Trainor of LeftCoast who programmed this year’s event, said the packed programme provides something for everyone.
He said: “There is always a series of workshops and heritage tours during Showzam! which prove popular.
“People love to come and learn some tricks and have fun being creative while it’s always fascinating to be able to take a step back in time.”

Lost In Translation Circus Skills Workshops in The Pavilion, Showzam! Central. Sun 15 – Tues 17. Object manipulation 11am-12pm and 3-4pm, Acrobatics 12.45-1.15pm, Mini Trampoline 1.30-2pm
Clown Face Painting, Arena Dance Studio, Blackpool Pleasure Beach. Sat 14 10am – noon, 2pm – 4pm. Explore your creative side and learn the techniques of face painting while practicing on yourself.
Barnum Scams and Tricks of the Trade, The Horseshoe, Blackpool Pleasure Beach. Mon 16 11am – noon, 2pm – 3pm. Learn how to trick your friends in the style of the world’s greatest showman.
