In Doggerland – opening in Salford next week and coming to Preston’s Continental venue later in the month – will feature award-winning actress Natalie Grady.
Last year she won Best Supporting actress at the Manchester Theatre Awards for her role as Minnie Gascoigne in The Daughter in Law for The Library Theatre. Her other credits include the Olivier award-winning National Theatre production of Rafta Rafta, directed by Nicolas Hytner, Samuel West’s production of As You Like It at the Sheffield Crucible and most recently, Mother Courage and her Children for the Library Theatre at the Lowry.
In Doggerland tells the funny and heartfelt story of four people struggling to move forward under the weight of past trauma. The play explores the themes of organ donation and transplantation; loss and grief; family and home; and what makes up the essence of an individual.
The production is the first national touring production for Manchester-based Box of Tricks, a new writing theatre company.
It will open at The Lowry from Thursday to Saturday [0843 208 6000 or www.thelowry.com] and then tour, arriving at The Continental on November 21 [01772 499425 www.newcontinental.net].
