Storm can’t dampen the spirits of these Santas

Santa dashed into action as the grounds of St Catherine’s Hospice, Lostock Hall, came alive with festive attractions - including a Giant Snow Globe, ice rink, fairground rides, games, gift stalls and craft fayre at the weekend.

The event also included the Santa Dash and Rudolf Rumble on Sunday, with competitors dressing up for the fun run.

A spokesperson said: “The Santa Dash and Rudolph Run is a sponsored event with people dressing up and it’s part of the end of our anniversary year as we say thankyou to everyone for an amazing year in 2015.

“We had the My Snow Globe selfie campaign, encouraging people to get inside and take photographs of themselves.”

The bad weather on Saturday did not dampen people’s spirits.

“We were overwhelmed with the support from people who pulled on their wellies and raincoats to come out,” said the spokesperson.
