YOUNGSTERS are getting ready for an extravaganza of dance and music.

Pupils from Anita Murray School of Dancing, which has been running since 1969, are taking part in Hooked on Dance 2012. Almost 180 local children, from the ages of three up to 18, will participate.

Rehearsals started in February and the show comprises a colourful variety of ballet, modern, tap, and street dance.

There will also be a sequence of numbers from Oliver, performed by the Musical Theatre classes, which are run by the school’s dance staff and Upstage Drama School principal Sue Mackay.

The mayor and mayoress will be in attendance on July 13.

All performances are held at St Michael’s High School, Astley Road, Chorley, on Sunday, July 1, (open dress rehearsal) at 2.30pm, Saturday, July 7, at 7.15pm, Sunday, July 8, 2.30pm, Friday, July 13, 7.15pm and Saturday, July 14, 7.15pm.

Tickets cost £8 for adults and £5 for concessions, and are available from Julie’s Trimming Stall on Chorley Market.

Profits go towards selected charities. Tickets for the open dress rehearsal on July 1 cost £5 for adults and £3 for concessions.
