Part of a popular Leyland pub has been transformed into an all-American diner offering up a feast of US-inspired food.
The Railway, on Preston Road, now has a Casey’s Diner section. Landlord Danny Hindle and wife Alison have worked hard to create something they hope will set them apart from the town’s other eateries.
Danny said: “We wanted to create an area which was fitting with the atmosphere of the pub, as we focus on sports and live entertainment.
“We thought about doing a menu specialising in burgers at first, and then the whole American diner concept came to life.
“We’re not about fine dining, we’re not formal. It’s more about a buzzing atmosphere and good food.”
The refurbishment has meant the back section of the pub now has booths for people to eat meals, and the menu includes chili dogs, a tex mex burger, sloppy joe sandwich, meatloaf, barbecue ribs and chicken wings.
“We just thought it would really set us apart from everywhere else in Leyland,” Danny said. “We had already planned to do the refurb because we wanted to make that space towards the back of the pub more welcoming, so we decided to combine it with the launch of the new American menu.
“We’re going to start hiring the booths out so that groups can sit there to eat and watch sports on the screens, or live bands on the stage.”
