She may have been in the business for 25 years, but for one art director, this is by far her greatest accolade.

Bridget Appleby is the brains behind a new CBeebies series, Cloudbabies, which has been produced for HoHo Entertainment.

The first episode is due to air on May 14, and continue for 52 episodes.

The animated pre-school series follows four enchanting characters, Baba Pink, Baba Blue, Baba Yellow and Baba Green whose job is to look after the sky and their Sky Friends, Sun, Moon, Rainbow, Fuffa Cloud and Little Star.

They live together with Bobo White, a mischievous little Sky Imp, in a house on a big fluffy cloud.

Every morning, they jump on their Skyhorsies and begin their day’s work of looking after the sky.

For many years Bridget, from Chorley, was an in-house director for Cosgrave Hall films, where she worked on a number of shows, including Wind in the Willows, Cockleshell Bay, Brambly Hedge, Oakie Doke, Bill and Ben, and Andy Pandy.

Her latest Cloudbabies venture has taken a total of seven years to complete.

The series promotes caring for others and the world around us.
