More than 65 homes and businesses will be out of power tomorrow as maintenance work is carried out.
The outage, in the Towngate area of Leyland, will mean the Job Centre will be closed all day.
Neighbouring homes and businesses are also expected to be affected.
The work is being carried out by Electricity North West as part of ‘routine’ works.
Power bosses say the work will help prevent any power cuts in the future, which in the long-term will be more convenient for customers.
The power outage will take place between 9am and 3pm on Wednesday.
Electricity North West say 69 different homes and businesses will be affected.
A spokesman for Electricity North West, said: “I apologise for any inconvenience caused to residents by this planned power outage.
“The outage is to enable our engineers to carry out essential maintenance work on the electricity network to ensure we reduce the risk of any unexpected power cuts, which would be much more inconvenient for customers.
“We have written to everyone affected, but if anyone would like any more information they can call us on 0800 195 4141.”
A spokesman for Leyland’s JobCentre said: “We would ask anyone with urgent enquiries to call 0845 604 3719 and ask to be put through to our Preston and Chorley JobCentres.
“The Leyland branch will be closed all day.”
It is understood no benefits services will be affected.
