Police are anxious to trace a Leyland man with links to Preston who is wanted in connection with a number of offences.

Lee Ashton, 20, is wanted following an incident which happened on Thursday when a 17 year old girl reported being held against her will in a car in the Leyland area for several hours.

When attempts were made to arrest Ashton, he allegedly assaulted an officer by throwing a bike at him.

Police said Ashton is also wanted for failing to appear at Preston Crown Court after he was charged with making off without payment, taking a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent, failing to stop after an accident, driving without insurance and driving without a licence.

He is also wanted for breaching a Criminal Behaviour Order.

Ashton is described as white, 5ft 4in tall, with green eyes. He has short dark brown hair but it may now be a different colour.

He has links to the Leyland and Preston areas.

Sgt Mark Douglas from Leyland Police said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to find Ashton and I would urge anyone who has seen him or knows where he is to contact us.

“I would also remind anyone who might be helping Ashton to evade us that they are committing a criminal offence and I would urge them to come forward as soon as possible with any information on his whereabouts.”
