A derelict piece of land in Leyland where a petrol station used to be could become a site of affordable housing.
The former Shell site on Leyland Lane, also known as the Broadfield Service Station, was bought by a company called Melrose Construction Ltd earlier this month, and plans have now been submitted for housing on the land.
The firm wants to build a mixture of apartments, semi-detached and terraced houses, in conjunction with the New Progress Housing Association.
The proposals have been put before South Ribble Council, and also include associated access, parking and gardens.
The area has been closed off since the Shell petrol station was demolished in 2011.
